My love for film began with a stack of VHS tapes. Sick in bed for two weeks, movies not only kept me company, but also sparked my interest in the art of filmmaking.

Over the next few years, I learned all I could about making movies by reading books, taking courses and renting video cameras. This is how I learned to use the special effects at the end of my Safety Scholars video, which stars my younger brother Mitchell. My video emphasizes the dangers drivers face when, instead of the road, they focus their attention on a phone conversation.

After I graduate from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where I now study communications, I plan to retire early to the Sierra Nevada mountains, where I can fish all day and spend time with my family.
