’09 Safety Scholars Winners Visit Chicago

Last year’s Safety Scholars winners showcased their videos to automotive journalists from across the country at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show.

  • 2009 Grand Prize winner Eric Dachman chose the very topical issue of texting while driving for his video, “Designated Texter.”
  • 2009 Grand Prize winner Juliana Hinojosa felt compelled to enter the contest after her older brother, an Iraq war veteran, was killed by a drunk driver.
  • 2009 Grand Prize winner Christopher Baugh created a humorous piece in the style of a hip-hop music video focusing on safety tips.
  • 2009 Critics’ Choice winner Zach King’s video “Sister Sonata”  took an emotional look at how a fatal car accident impacts a sibling.
