’09 Safety Scholars Winners Visit Chicago
Last year’s Safety Scholars winners showcased their videos to automotive journalists from across the country at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show.
- 2009 Grand Prize winner Eric Dachman chose the very topical issue of texting while driving for his video, “Designated Texter.”
- 2009 Grand Prize winner Juliana Hinojosa felt compelled to enter the contest after her older brother, an Iraq war veteran, was killed by a drunk driver.
- 2009 Grand Prize winner Christopher Baugh created a humorous piece in the style of a hip-hop music video focusing on safety tips.
- 2009 Critics’ Choice winner Zach King’s video “Sister Sonata” took an emotional look at how a fatal car accident impacts a sibling.
Your Video Could Air as a PSA
How cool is that? Past Safety Scholars winning videos have aired more than 9,500 times, with almost 62 million people viewing them on TV stations from coast to coast. Your video could be the one that makes the difference in someone’s life – whether it encourages seat belt use or putting down the cell phone before driving away.
